  ミクロネシア(MCS)の中心的な島で、大統領府や大学、大きな病院がある。観光はダイビングやシュノーケル、釣り中心。お土産はココナッツの石鹸やオイルがおすすめで、個人的には地場産の胡椒で作った佃煮が美味しかった。日本食レストランや日本式「弁当」の店が多くあり便利だった。
